While I haven't begun to scratch the surface of street photography, I started to lose complete interest shooting candids. Inspired by portrait photographers Lou Noble and Claudia Consentino, I wanted to further explore other genres of photography and showcase a product that was more meaningful to me. "My Friends Over You" is a series of portraits that involve me capturing and interviewing my friends by getting to know them better from behind a lens.
Eric Nguyen is a friend of mine that I met at a Worn Magazine Launch
Party and I instantly knew that he had the look I wanted to capture on
camera. Besides being a local Virginian who commutes to D.C. everyday
like I am, he is also extremely fashionable and is always down to do
anything. Before heading out to mosh at the Shark Week and Warchild
concert at The Pinch, we went to visit the Worn Abroad Winter Sale Pop
Up Shop at Tropicalia. While being in one of my favorite parts of D.C.
(U Street) area and the weather FINALLY getting better, I had to get a
few photos of Eric to see what we could create. These are the two test shots I took on that day and I'm hopeful to present a full set of photos with Eric for the project soon.
